Pour a little paint into a shallow tray and load your stippler or stencil brush with a small amount, if you think the brush is overloaded then blot it using kitchen towel or a scrap of paper.Ĥ. Place your stencil onto the fabric bag and secure in place with masking tape if neededģ. Lay your fabric bag on a flat surface and place inside a piece of cardboard that is just a little smaller than the bag – this will prevent the paint from seeping through both layers of fabric.Ģ. They can be reused year after year making them wonderfully sustainable.ġ. Stencil on fabric bagsĭecorated fabric goodie bags make a lovely alternative to a stocking. Remove the kitchen paper and leaf then repeat the process to complete your design. Put a square of kitchen paper over the top and roll across the leaf using a wallpaper roller. Place the leaf face down on the lining wallpaper (or a folded card, or tag to make greeting cards or gift tags). Working quickly, use a stencil brush to apply the paint, stippling from the center out to the edges.ģ. Making sure your leaves are clean and dry (but not dried out and crispy!), lay a leaf face up on a scrap of paper. Select your leaves - for best results choose flat leaves with sculptural shapesĢ. Try practising beforehand on scrap paper to work out what coverage is best.ġ. The key to success, as with any printing method, is to not overload your leaf or stamp with paint, use just enough to ensure the detail of the veining and texture comes through in the print. The great thing about this technique is it will work for every occasion. Print paper using leaves collected on a walk to create beautiful paper with botanical charm. Repeat this process until the whole paper is covered. Use a sponge to dab a thin layer of paint onto the potato design and then press it firmly down on the paper to print. Pour some paint your chosen paint into a shallow printing trayĦ. Lay down a length of your chosen paper on a covered table and weigh it down at each corner to keep it flat.Ħ. Blot the design using kitchen towel and if possible wait for around 30 minutes for the potato to dry out slightly – this will give a more effective print.ĥ. This should be done by adults only and not children.Ĥ. You could use a cookie cutter to gently mark out the design.ģ. Cut your potato in half and draw your design onto the flat side, for best results choose something with a simple silhouette such as a star or a Christmas tree. Choose potatoes that are large enough to create a good sized stamp but aren't too large that they are hard to handle.Ģ. Washable paint – used above is Chalk Paint from Annie Sloan.ġ. Breed the male Togetic with a female Plusle and produce a male Plusle with Wish as an egg move.Get a male Togetic that knows Wish (learned at level 29).You can also use this to get two different egg moves onto Pokemon C. The reason you do this is because Pokemon A cannot breed with Pokemon C, but Pokemon C wants an egg move Pokemon A can learn. These are known as "Egg Moves." In generation 6 onward, the gender of the parents don't matter for egg moves.Ĭhain Breeding is the act of breeding Pokemon A to get an egg move onto Pokemon B, then breeding Pokemon B with Pokemon C to get the same egg move onto Pokemon C. A well known example is a male Dragonite with the attack Outrage breeding with a female Charizard to make a baby Charmander that knows Outrage. A Pokemon can learn an attack that is only learned through specific breeding. There are some instances where this will not work. A Pokemon can learn an attack that is normally learned at later levels if both of the parents already have it in their move sets. This only works if the baby Pokemon would normally be able to learn that move. A Pokemon can learn an attack from a TM or HM if the father has one in their move set. There are three types of Attacks that can be taught through breeding: Once a Pokemon hatches, it will be at level 1 and may know certain moves that it normally cannot learn at that level. So If you breed a Ditto with a different species, it will always be the Female or the non-gendered Pokemon like Magnemite's Poke Ball that gets passed down. If you caught a Pokemon with one of these 3 balls, they get replaced with a Poke Ball when breeding. Cherish Balls, Master Balls and Friend Balls do not get passed down. Unless of course the Pokemon are of the same species : Two Eevees or Two Dragonite, then it has a 50/50 chance to appear in either ball. So, if you´re breeding a female Pokemon you caught in a Dusk Ball with a male Pokemon in a Nest Ball, the baby will always be inside a Dusk Ball. The Poke Ball the egg hatches in is solely based upon the ball that the mother was caught in. This is a great place to start for breeding purposes. Pokemon in a "chain" of more than 40 called ally Pokemon in SOS Battles will have 4 perfect IVs, guaranteed. That's five out of a total of 12 between both of the parent Pokemon. This will pass down five Individual Values from either parent to the child, but the five stats will be chosen at random. The best option when passing down IVs is to have one parent hold the Destiny Knot. If you let both Parents hold one of these items, only one of the IVs will be sent down (it will be random), and the other two Stats will be randomly chosen. If you like a particular Stat's Individual Value, you can attach a Power Weight, Power Bracer, Power Belt, Power Lens, Power Band, or Power Anklet to either parent to pass down the HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, or Speed Individual Value on to the child Pokemon. If you want to check your newly hatched Pokemon's IVs, see How to Check IVs in Pokemon Sun and Moon. These three IVs will be selected randomly from either the male, the female, or both. Three Individual Values will be passed on from the parent Pokemon to the child each time you breed. However, there are ways to breed a certain ability onto the child. The chances of getting a certain Ability from a Pokemon in the wild are 50/50. Some Pokemon can have more than one Abilities. This will allow the Nature to pass down to the child, with about a 50% success rate. If you like the Nature of one of the parent Pokemon, you can let that Pokemon hold an Everstone. To get one of these infant Pokemon, the parent may need to hold a Incense while in the Day Care, but not all baby Pokemon need a special item to be created. Some Pokemon can only be obtained through breeding. In this special case, you will have a 50/50 chance of the egg being the same species as the father or mother. There are few Pokemon that can only be male or female, such as Illumise and Volbeatr. For example: if you're breeding a female Charizard and a male Dragonite, you will end up with a Charmander of either gender. However, for obvious reasons, it will not be the highest evolutionary form. If you're not breeding two of the same Pokemon - like two Incineroar - and instead are breeding two different Pokemon that are in the same egg group, the female of the two Pokemon will be the Pokemon species that hatches from the egg. It is estimated that poor UK air quality results in approximately 50 000 premature deaths annually and costs society £8.5–20.2 billion per year (HOC 2010). Exposure to significantly elevated levels of surface ozone can cause reduced respiratory function and cardiovascular problems (WHO 2014). By using established ozone exposure-health burden metrics, anticyclonic and easterly condition enhanced surface ozone concentrations pose the greatest public health risk.Īir pollutants, such as ozone (O 3), nitrogen dioxide (NO 2) and particulate matter (PM 2.5 and 10-particles with diameters of less than 2.5 and 10 μm, respectively), can have significant impacts on human health (WHO 2006, 2013). We show that the UK Met Office regional air quality model successfully reproduces UK summer-time ozone concentrations and ozone enhancements under anticyclonic and south-easterly conditions for the summer of 2006. Increased cloud cover also likely decrease ozone production rates. Cyclonic conditions and westerly flows, associated with unstable weather, transport ozone from the UK mainland, replacing it with clean maritime (North Atlantic) air masses. Easterly flows (NE, E, SE) transport ozone and precursor gases from polluted regions in continental Europe (e.g. Anticyclonic stability and light winds aid the trapping of ozone and its precursor gases near the surface. Anticyclonic conditions and easterly flows are shown to significantly enhance ozone concentrations over the UK relative to summer-time average values. In this study we composite surface and satellite observations of summer-time (April to September) ozone under different UK atmospheric circulation patterns, as defined by the Lamb weather types. In the United Kingdom (UK), peak surface ozone concentrations typically occur in the spring and summer and are controlled by emission of precursor gases, tropospheric chemistry and local meteorology which can be influenced by large-scale synoptic weather regimes. See the Activity Guides to learn ways to protect your health when the AQI reaches unhealthy levels.Air pollutants, such as ozone, have adverse impacts on human health and cause, for example, respiratory and cardiovascular problems. Health warning of emergency conditions: everyone is more likely to be affected. Health alert: The risk of health effects is increased for everyone. Some members of the general public may experience health effects members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects. The general public is less likely to be affected. Members of sensitive groups may experience health effects. However, there may be a risk for some people, particularly those who are unusually sensitive to air pollution. AQI Basics for Ozone and Particle Pollution Daily AQI ColorĪir quality is satisfactory, and air pollution poses little or no risk.Īir quality is acceptable. The color makes it easy for people to quickly determine whether air quality is reaching unhealthy levels in their communities. Each category corresponds to a different level of health concern. When AQI values are above 100, air quality is unhealthy: at first for certain sensitive groups of people, then for everyone as AQI values get higher. AQI values at or below 100 are generally thought of as satisfactory. For example, an AQI value of 50 or below represents good air quality, while an AQI value over 300 represents hazardous air quality.įor each pollutant an AQI value of 100 generally corresponds to an ambient air concentration that equals the level of the short-term national ambient air quality standard for protection of public health. The higher the AQI value, the greater the level of air pollution and the greater the health concern. Think of the AQI as a yardstick that runs from 0 to 500. AQI is EPA’s index for reporting air quality. Another benefit of Airbnb is you have a full kitchen to prep all your tailgate recipes in. After all, sometimes you just need to sign a document when you're away from your Mac and iPad, but your iPhone is pretty much with you all the time. That means you can even use them on your best iPhone as well, such as the iPhone 14. Having an iPad with Apple Pencil is a fantastic combo that feels natural like pen and paper, so even signing and filling out forms electronically just feels right.Įven though this list of apps is meant for the iPad and Apple Pencil, a lot of these are universal apps. Find out more about how we test.Īs you can see, when you have a great iPad with an Apple Pencil, marking up and annotating PDFs is an easy task. Our team of Apple experts have years of experience testing all kinds of tech and gadgets, so you can be sure our recommendations and criticisms are accurate and helpful. Like PDFPen, iAnnotate 4 is a one-time purchase with no in-app purchases to worry about. A situation that this is great for is when there needs to be multiple signatures on a document, as the Flatten feature prevents others from making unauthorized modifications or changes. The Flatten feature compresses annotations onto the document to prevent modifications from being made. There are even keyboard shortcuts if you want to maximize efficiency.Īll markups on your documents can be saved directly, letting you view markups in external PDF readers. It'll automatically annotate when you use an Apple Pencil, and you can pan, zoom, and scroll with your fingers at will, no tool switching needed, making it a streamlined experience. The biggest draw with iAnnotate is the iPad Pro multitasking support, which allows you to view two documents side-by-side. IAnnotate 4 does your basics, such as letting you open and view PDFs and documents, but you can do so much more with the app than you may think. Want to maximize your productivity when it comes to PDFs and documents? Then iAnnotate is a great option to consider. For those who need this kind of workflow, there's no better app than LiquidText out there - and possibly no better workflow. The Apple Pencil makes all of this even better, giving users specific gestures to highlight and pull out annotations as they review documents. And all of this is lightning fast and wholly enjoyable, thanks to LiquidText's speedy and simple UI. You can pull annotations out from the document they belong to - like clippings or post-its - and organize them together or even link them along the right side of the screen. For instance, you could look at an introductory thesis statement next to its midpoint argument to see if it properly connects the dots. You can use multitouch gestures to pinch together large sections of a document. There's a better way to organize your research, and this app is it.Īt its core, LiquidText focuses on the pain point of annotating lengthy documents, giving users a number of tools to do it in a way wholly unlike any other PDF app on the market. Lawyer and Mac enthusiast David Sparks describes it as being "engineered around the idea of reviewing long PDF documents better." It looks at books filled with post-it notes and string-covered bulletin boards and laughs. A traditional sign-and-form-fill annotation app this is not - LiquidText is built for projects, novels, research papers, and dusty libraries. I've rewritten this intro to LiquidText about five times now, largely because the multitouch annotation app has this slippery way of defying description. PDF Viewer can even rearrange, delete, or insert blank pages within a PDF, though it doesn't have some of the more advanced combination features (like merging multiple PDFs or adding existing PDF pages into a document). For instance, if you're looking at a document, you'll be shown the tools for sharing, zooming, and browsing through annotations tap the annotation button, and the app brings you into Annotation mode, with its various tools - still simplified into easy-to-understand icons. Taking a page from Apple's own iWork suite, the app provides a series of nested views depending on which feature you're using. It is a perfect in-between for users who need a bit more than what the iOS Markup tool provides, but don't need the power of apps like PDF Expert or LiquidText.Ī PDF app's interface can frequently appear daunting to the average user, thanks in part to the sheer number of annotation options developers try to shove inside of them, but PDF Viewer smartly simplifies this process. PDF Viewer has a clean, simplistic interface and powerful annotation tools. Its aesthetic has been described as " neumorphism", a portmanteau of new and skeuomorphism. Compared to iOS, Big Sur's icons include more shading and highlights to give a three-dimensional appearance. All standard apps, as well as the Dock and the Menu Bar, are redesigned and streamlined, and their icons now have rounded-square shapes like iOS and iPadOS apps. Its changes include translucency in various places, a new abstract wallpaper for the first time and a new color palette. MacOS Big Sur refreshes the design of the user interface, described by Apple as the biggest change since the introduction of Mac OS X. Using these methods, it is possible to install macOS Big Sur on computers as old as a 2008 MacBook Pro and iMac and 2009 Mac Mini. Developer Transition Kit (only up to Big Sur 11.3 beta 2 )īy using patch tools, macOS Big Sur can be installed on earlier computers that are officially unsupported, such as the 2012 iMac and the 2012 MacBook Pro.Unlike macOS Catalina, which supported every standard configuration Mac that Mojave supported, Big Sur drops support for various Macs released in 2012 and early 2013. To maintain backwards compatibility, macOS Big Sur identified itself as 10.16 to software and in the browser user agent. macOS Big Sur started reporting the system version as "11.0" on all Macs as of the third beta release. An exception to this was the Developer Transition Kit, which always reported the system version as "11.0". Providing some indication as to how the pre-release operating system may have been viewed internally at Apple during its development cycle, documentation accompanying the initial beta release of macOS Big Sur referred to its version as "10.16", and when upgrading from prior versions of macOS using the Software Update mechanism to early beta releases, the version referred to was "10.16". MacOS Big Sur is the final version of macOS that supports Macs with Nvidia graphics cards, specifically the 15-inch dual graphics late 2013 and mid 2014 MacBook Pro models, as its successor, macOS Monterey, drops support for those models. The operating system is named after the coastal region of Big Sur in the Central Coast of California, continuing the naming trend of California locations that began with OS X Mavericks. To mark the transition, the operating system's major version number was incremented, for the first time since 2001, from 10 to 11. It is also the first macOS version to support Macs with ARM-based processors. Most notably, macOS Big Sur features a user interface redesign that features new blurs to establish a visual hierarchy and also includes a revamp of the Time Machine backup mechanism, among other changes. īig Sur is the successor to macOS Catalina, and was succeeded by macOS Monterey, which was released on October 25, 2021. It was announced at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) on June 22, 2020, and was released to the public on November 12, 2020. The 'Rio' warehouse in Justin Lin’s 2011 Fast Five, more recognisably renamed Fast and Furious 5, was also filmed here, as were scenes for Edgar Wright's Baby Driver. Once the old farmers’ market, this too is off limits to the public though, again, it’s visible from the road, as well as from the MARTA train that runs alongside. The site is owned by the state, as is the warehouse complex on the eastern side of Murphy Avenue, southwest of downtown, which was transformed into the town square and the Justice Building of ‘District 11’. Despite being fenced off, the crumbling 26-acre industrial complex has proved a magnet for the city’s urban explorers and graffiti artists, but you non-trespassers can see clearly enough from the road. Once a repair facility for Pullman train cars, including buildings from as early as 1904, was also used for some grungy interiors. This time around, ‘The Hob’ uses the disused Pratt-Pullman Yard on Rogers Street at DeKalb Avenue NE on Atlanta’s near-Eastside. Instead, this was filmed up in snowy New Jersey, in Ramapo Mountain State Forest on Skyline Drive, near the New York State border. There’s a complete change of location, from North Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia, though it seems the Peach State couldn’t provide the wintery backdrop for the opening scenes of Katniss ( Jennifer Lawrence) suffering post-traumatic flashbacks as she hunts in the woods with Gale ( Liam Hemsworth). A huge improvement on the first film, the series really does begin to catch fire with this far more gripping and fleshed-out installment, as the devious President Snow ( Donald Sutherland) conspires with game-maker Plutarch Heavensbee ( Philip Seymour Hoffman) to compromise the credibility of the people’s favourite victors. John Lewis from Peterhead has also found the jelly over the past 8 to 10 years, 'usually close to, or around the margins of ponds or other bits of wetlands or just damp areas in fields. If this comes from an animal - at Quinish it could be sheep, cattle or deer but at the Mishish Lochs only from a sheep or red deer.' I talked to a local keeper he had seen this once before on the hill. The second was at Quinish on a shoot in the autumn and more like your photo - two or three lumps. The mass was very clear with a slight purple hue - colour like a block of acrylic - texture like jelly. The first sighting was at the Mishnish Lochs - a single lump of very firm jelly about 150cm in diameter and as we live in Tobermory, I was reminded of a jelly fish - at 500ft in the wrong direction for a wind lift. Ronnie Leask directed us to a geological magazine which suggested this might be 'Pwdre Ser or Star Jelly', perhaps remnants from a meteorite shower.īrian Swinbanks says 'I have seen this substance twice on the Isle of Mull, so you can rule out badgers and foxes, we have none. Other people are talking about anal glands and secretions, but the substances I have observed are too large to be produced by a small carnivore.' This would certainly explain clear jellies found in March or April. If a predator eats a female frog or toad that is ready to lay, the jelly which would have formed the outside of the spawn is discarded (does it taste nasty?) as not nutritious. Steve Chambers believes that 'the problem is that there are several jelly-like substances that can be found at different times of year. Mike Snook thinks it could be 'a slime mould, a kind of fungus, I have seen several in woods on the base of tree trunks.' Jean Muir thinks 'It could be some kind of jelly fungus'.
